The owner walked up to the employee and said, “Don’t let any s# go down over here.” She told him that she was watching us and wouldn’t let anything happen. A very kind employee stayed right with us. “Daddy, look!” He would then place them back in the appropriate basket and even straightened the signs for each. He sweetly picked up various rocks and showed them to me. While my wife went with her, I kept our 2yo son by the door. My 10yo daughter loves rocks, minerals, and gems of all kinds. We made a special trip to French Quarter Gem and Lapidary recently. Will definitely stop back on my next visit to New Orleans. The FQ Gem and Lapidary has amazing pieces. I think when jewelry shopping you need to know what you're looking for in order to get something of good quality. I'm an easy sale when I know exactly what I want and was in and out of there in about 20 minutes with two really great pieces. The man who helped me pick out my rings was very nice and helpful - the staff was not pushy. I settled on two silver malachite rings - one for me and one for my mom. I took a few minutes looking at their various stones and looked at a few rings. They have a lot of really great silver pieces. I was traveling with a big group and we happened to be close by and decided to stop in. One of my favorite things to do is to buy keepsake pieces during my travels - mostly jewelry and art - to remember my trip that I'll enjoy for a long time. ![]() I found this place searching online and made a note to myself that I had to stop on my recent trip to New Orleans during my first visit to the city.
